We charge a Card Charge Authorization fee of $0.50 for all of our orders. The Card Charge Authorization fee is paid at the time when you place your order and is done in case our items are damaged beyond repair, lost or stolen or late fees are applicable.

What do the 'conditions' of the clothes mean?
Excellent Vintage Condition (EVC): Immaculate condition with no obvious flaws or faults. These items may have arrived to us as deadstock.
Very Good Vintage Condition (VGVC): Almost new in appearance and in very good condition. No obvious flaws, fading or marks.
Good Vintage Condition (GVC): These items may have light marks and fading, but nothing super noticeable. They might present with minimal pilling or flaws.
Play: These pieces are well loved and may present with fading and minor stains.
We check over all items to ensure they have the correct condition rating, and that they are cleaned and steamed before it goes out to you.
What sizes do you stock?
We currently stock size 000 through to size 7. Sizes will vary according to availability, but our range will increase as our company grows.
Sizes vary depending on the brand, fabric, and style of the item. As vintage sizing can be crazy, we have STS (strap to saddle/crotch) & STH (strap to hem) length on each listing to help you find the size you need.
How do I care for the clothes?
Each item will come with its own laundry care card and wash bag if applicable. Please follow this to ensure longevity of our beloved vintage pieces. If you've got a short hire, feel free to leave the washing up to us!
Please do not use soap-based laundry detergent (such as Lux Flakes) when washing our pieces. Instead, use a high quality liquid such as Omo, Biozet, Dirt, KinKin etc.
We also stock sample sizes of The Dirt Company laundry liquid that can be added to your order!
What about stains and wear & tear?
Clothes are made to be worn!
Your rental fee includes insurance for reasonable stains and wear and tear. You will not be charged extra fees for stains and wear that fit our criteria of what is reasonable.
Reasonable stains include small, minor, non-obvious marks. Reasonable wear and tear include lost buttons, failing zips, unraveling hems, seams opening up, and minor wear of elbows and knees.
If you notice any stains or wear on a garment, let us know.
If you've got a long hire, we will let you know what to do next. These are vintage pieces and as much as we want them to, they won't last forever!
What isn't covered by wear & tear?
Major damage that affects the integrity of the clothing is not covered by insurance. This includes tears, holes, shrinkage, bleach stains, and colour changes (other than reasonable wash/wear fading). Theft and lost items are not covered by insurance.
In cases of major damage and lost or stolen items, you may either be charged based on the recommended retail price or valued price depending on item. If garments are deemed repairable, you may be charged the repair costs and additional fees for lost revenue on the item.
If items have been damaged, lost, or stolen whilst in your care, please email hello@kindredthreads.com.au and we will advise you how to proceed.
How long does shipping take?
If you've chosen standard post (Australia Post) it can take anywhere from 3-5 business days to arrive in your mail box.
Express Post (Australia Post) on the other hand can take anywhere between 1 - 3 business days depending on where you are located.
Please refer to Australia Post's delivery estimator to see how long it might take to ship to your postcode. We are sending from postcode 4815.
How do I return the item?
Your items will be sent in an Ecopack. Cut along the dotted line to open your pack, that way you can reuse the postage bag when you send it back!! We will compost the bag once it arrives back to us in an effort to make our shipping practices as ecofriendly as possible.
Inside your package, you will find a prepaid return label. Slap that on and head into your nearest Australia post before 4pm. Drop the package off at the counter and obtain a lodgment receipt. Kindly avoid street-side post boxes as this can create delays and loss of tracking information.
If the last day of your rental falls on a weekend or public holiday, you can return it on the following business day instead!
What are the late fees?
We get it, life happens. If you would like to extend your rental, please reach out 3 days prior to your period ending.
For each day the item is late a late fee of $10.00 per item per day will be charged. Late fees will be invoiced to you and debited from your nominated card.
The hire period is deemed as first day being the date you receive the item/s, and the return date being the last day of your rental period. If your return date falls on a weekend or public holiday, you must lodge your return by 3.30pm the following business day.
If late fees cannot be collected, we will take action to recuperate the value of the item(s), as well as lost rental revenue and any costs incurred by Kindred Threads in seeking such action.
